Chocolate Meditation
Overview
The chocolate meditation invites students to mindfully engage with the experience of eating chocolate, using their senses to fully explore its taste, texture, and aroma. Through this practice, students deepen their connection with the present moment, creating a sense of inner calmness.
Useful for
- Connecting with one’s senses and with the here-and-now
- Creating inner calmness
Materials
- Small chocolates (1 per student)
- Strawberries or clementines (1 per student who may be allergic to chocolate)
- Briefly explain the purpose of the chocolate meditation: to help them calm their minds and focus their attention on the here-and-now.
- Distribute one chocolate to each student and begin the meditation.
- Option 1: Play an audio recording of the chocolate meditation
- Option 2: Play a video recording of the chocolate meditation
- Option 2: Read the chocolate meditation script aloud
Fruit can be used for the meditation exercise instead of chocolate.
